G.5 Spectroscopy-Mount for IVUV and NVUV Cameras
In addition to the spectroscopy adapter, IVUV/NVUV cameras require two o-rings to be
installed:
• A 2.739” inner diameter o-ring is installed between the face the camera and the
spectrograph’s adapter;
• A 2.614” inner diameter o-ring is installed into a groove on the face of the
spectrograph’s adapter.
NOTE:
Prior to installing each o-ring, a thin coat of vacuum grease
must be applied to guarantee an adequate seal is achieved.
Figure G-3 illustrates where these o-rings are located.

Typically, cameras are shipped with the adapter already mounted to the face of the camera
and the o-rings already in place.
G.5.1 Installation Procedure
Perform the following procedure to install an IVUV/NVUV spectroscopy mount onto a
PI-MAX4 camera:
1. Use the supplied screwdriver to remove the four (4) Phillips head screws that secure the
current adapter to the front of the PI-MAX4.
NOTE:
If the Phillips end of the screwdriver is not available, pull the
driver shaft out of the handle, flip the shaft, and insert the flat
end into the handle.
2. Remove the existing adapter and store it in a safe place.
3. Apply a thin layer of vacuum grease to each of the o-rings.
