F.2 Mount a PI-MAX4 to an IsoPlane SCT-320 Spectrograph
This section provides the procedure for mounting a PI-MAX4 to an IsoPlane SCT-320
spectrograph.
F.2.1 Required Tools and Equipment
The following tools and equipment are required:
5/16” Open end wrench (provided in Spectrometer Kit bag)
(3) 10-32 x ½” hex head stainless steel screws (from Shipping Plate removal or
from Spectrometer Kit bag)
F.2.2 Procedure
Perform the following procedure to install a PI-MAX4 to an IsoPlane SCT-320
Spectrograph:
NOTES:
1. Rotational alignment of the camera to the spectrograph
optics is done by loosening and subsequently re-tightening
the screws at the mounting plate corners. The holes are
slotted to allow about 4° of rotation.
2. If the IsoPlane was ordered with an internal shutter, an
external shutter control box will be required to control the
shutter or the shutter will need to be removed. See the
IsoPlane SCT 320 manual for shutter removal instructions.
1. Remove shipping cover and store with
washers. Hex head screws are used for
mounting camera.
2. Finger tighten three hex head screws
into the mounting plate. Leave about ¼”
thread exposed.
3. Mount camera to mounting plate. Rotate
camera until text on back is parallel to
top of IsoPlane.
4. Using wrench, tighten down the three
hex head screws.
