7.3 Replacing the Mark III Electronics
The Daniel Mark III Ultrasonic Gas Flow Meter electronics consists of the following:
Acquisition board (Base unit)
CPU board (Upper Explosion-proof Housing Assembly)
I.S. Interface board (Upper Explosion-proof Housing Assembly)
Field Termination board (Upper Explosion-proof Housing Assembly)
Series 100 Option board or Series 100 Plus Option Board (Upper housing)
See Figure 2-2 for board locations within the assembly. Also, see Section 3.3.3 for accessing the
Mark III electronics.
Should the Daniel 3400 Series Gas Ultrasonic Flow Meter require disassembly in the field (i.e.,
check boards, change switch settings, or replace boards), follow the instructions in the Daniel
Ultrasonic Mark III Electronic Upgrade Kit Instructions Manual (P/N 3-9000-746) and the Daniel
Series 100 Option Boards Field Installation Procedure Manual (P/N 3-9000-749) to disassemble the
meter. Both manuals may be downloaded from the Daniel website.

In the event the Daniel Ultrasonic Gas Flow Meter needs repair, the user is advised to contact
Daniel Customer Service. The contact information is noted in the preface of this manual.
Record the following information when replacing the meter electronics.
