2. Safety
2.2 Important safety instructions
To prevent risk, personal injury and E2 damage
Please read this chapter carefully. It includes several cautions to prevent damage to the E 2. Ensure that y ou understand and follow
all safety guidelines, safety instructions and w arnings mentioned in this chapter before installing the E2. After this ch apter, additional
“warnings” and “cautions” are given depending on the installation procedure. Read and follow these “w arnings” and “cautions” as
well.
Read and follow all installation and operation instructions.
Only trained technicians may ins tall the E2.
Installation of the E2 must be done in a dust free area.
Only use attachments/accessories specied by the manufacturer.
CAUTION: Troubleshooting must be performed by a trained technician. To reduce the risk of electrical shoc
k, do not a ttempt
to service this equipment unless you are qualied to do so.
Refer all servicing to qualied s ervice personnel. Servicing is r equired when the s ystem has been dam aged in any way, suc h
as liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the syste m, or the sys tem has been expos ed to rain or mo isture, does not
operate normally, or has been dropped.
FRAGILE: The E2 is fragile. Handle the E2 with care at all times.
To prevent injury, minimum 2 persons are required to carry the E2.
Do not remove any covers or panels during normal operation. Removal any of these items will expose sensitive electronic
circuits and the unit may be damaged.
During maintenance operations, always switch off the E2 and unplug power cords before remo ving one of the covers.
Always wear a wrist band wh ich is connected to the gro und while handling the E SD sensitive parts.
Wear insulating gloves during the execution of the installation and maintenance ac tions to avoid short-circuit.
Be c areful never to drop anything into the E2 assembly during the service procedures.
Be careful to always follow the pr ocedures during maintenance opera tions (spare parts replacement).
This pr oduct is intended to operate from a power source that will not apply more than 230 volts rms between the supply con-
ductors or between both supply conductor and ground. A protective ground connection by way of gro unding conductor in the
power cord is essential for sa fe operation.
This product is grounded through the gro unding conductor of the power c ord. To avoid electrical shock, plug the power cord
into a properly wired receptacle before connecting to the product input or output terminals. A pro tective-ground conn ection by
way of the grounding conductor in the power c ord is essential for safe operation. For 110V installations the power supply cord
should be rated at 13amps. For 220V installations the power supply cord should be rated 10amps.
Use only the power cord and connector specied for your product. Us e only a power cord
that is in good condition. Refer cord
and connector changes to qualied service personnel.
Replace spare parts only with the same parts su pplied by Barco.
Save the original shipping carton and packing material. They will come in handy if you eve r have to ship your equipm ent. For
maximum protection, repac k your set a s it was originally packed at the factory.
