Schedules
Your system administrator has the ability to define scripts that run at scheduled times. For example, the system administrator might define a script
that automatically sets a camera to night mode every day at dusk.
Depending on the specific role you play as an operator of the VMX300(-E) system, you might be notified of schedules as they occur. Notification
is done through the Session Manager.
NOTE: Schedules are highly customizable. Your system administrator should instruct you in what events are defined and how you are expected
to respond to them.
STATUS ON LOG IN: When you log in, VMX300(-E) provides you with an accurate reflection of the current state of the system. Schedules in the
process of executing will appear as active entries in the Session Manager, even if they were initiated before you logged in.
HOW SCHEDULES WORK
WHEN A SCHEDULE EXECUTES
If your system administrator has designated you to receive notification of schedules, you will see several things happen when the schedule
executes:
A script defined by the system administrator runs.
An entry for the schedule appears in the Session Manager.
The entry for a schedule that requires a response is automatically highlighted in the activities list, provided you do not already have an
active entry highlighted. An active entry is any entry that does not have status Complete. If you already have an active entry highlighted,
the new entry will not be highlighted. This ensures that your current selection is not overridden; the system respects your selection by
leaving your entry highlighted.
If your system administrator wants you to respond to the schedule, a custom prompt defined by the system administrator will appear on
your workstation. Prompts can appear, disappear, and reappear on your workstation. The administrator can define the prompt to be
removed from your workstation and displayed on another operator’s workstation if you do not respond quickly enough. If no other operator
has responded in the allotted time, the prompt can reappear on your workstation.
RESPONDING TO A SCHEDULE
If a schedule requires a response, its entry in the Session Manager remains active until the event has been acknowledged. Only one operator
needs to respond to a schedule. If several operators are notified, the event is considered acknowledged once the system receives a response from
any one of the recipients.
To respond to a schedule, click one of the prompt buttons.
Once a schedule has been acknowledged and its script has finished running:
The status of the entry in the Session Manager becomes Complete.
The entry for the completed event is no longer highlighted.
The highest active entry in the activities list becomes highlighted. Exactly which entry this is depends on how the activities are sorted.
