The mesh front is designed to overlap nish materials 0
inches to 1-1/4 inch thick. See Figure 13.7.
NOTICE: This 1-1/4 inch maximum not only includes the
decorative nish materials (marble, tile, slate, etc) but also
the thin set, lath and adhesive used to attach the decorative
nish material.
The non-combustible nish material can be installed up
to the 17-1/8 inch (height) by 62-3/4 inch (width) replace
opening.

Decorative facing material thickness is measured from
the face of the factory-installed non-combustible board.

The mesh front can be installed such that it overlaps non-
combustible materials up to 1-1/4 in. thick. See Figure
13.6.Refer to Section 1.E and 1.F of this manual for de-
nition and qualications and denition of non-combustible
and combustible materials.
Specic requirements for each method if installation are
described below and on the following pages of this section.
The mesh decorative front is approved for inside t ap-
plications. Non-combustible nishing materials up to 4
inches thick can be installed around the Mesh front (left,
right, top, and bottom). See Figure 13.8.
