Chapter 5 - Repairs & Replacements
Solenoid Valve
P/N 853440
1. Make sure that the main on/off switch is
Off and the amber light in the switch is out.
2. Unplug the power cord from the electrical
outlet.
3. Turn off the oxygen supply at the source.
4. Open the electronics compartment (refer
to Page 57).
5. With a 7/16-in. wrench, dis-connect the
oxygen line on the rear of the solenoid
(Figure 135).
6. Before proceeding, wait 10-minutes to
allow any residual oxygen from the system
to dissipate.

CAUTION: This procedure requires opening the
oxygen system, and should not be performed by un-
trained personnel. Avoid the use of open flames,
smoking materials, or equipment capable of
producing sparks while performing this procedure.
CAUTION: Before proceeding, make sure the unit is
Off, and the electric power cord un-plugged.
CAUTION: Before proceeding, make sure the oxygen
supply is turned off at the source.
Tools and Supplies Required
Phillips screwdriver
3/4-in. wrench
11/16-in. wrench
7/16-in. wrench
Thread sealing tape
Removal
7. Two wires run from the solenoid to positions 3 and 12 on
the main terminal block (Figure 135). With a Phillips
screwdriver, dis-connect these two wires from the terminal
block.
