General:

• Inspect all piping for leaks, page 68.
• Inspect gas piping, page 68.
• Inspect the water system, page 68.
• Check water system chemistry, page 68
• Inspect expansion tank, page 69.
• Inspect air openings, page 69.
• Inspect vent system and air piping,
page 69.
• Inspect boiler heating surfaces, page 69.
• Inspect igniter, page 69.
• Inspect recuperator, page 70.
• Inspect temperature mixing system,
page 70.
• Inspect limit controls and cutoffs, page 70.
• Inspect gauges, page 70.
• Inspect blower motor, page 70.
• Inspect oiled-bearing circulators, page 70.
• Inspect boiler relief valve, page 71.
Additional if combustion or
performance indicates the need:
• Follow procedures under Cleaning boiler

• Clean heat exchanger.
• Remove and clean burner using
compressed air only.
• Vacuum the blower.
