To transfer media from a Sony Video Disk Unit:

3 Select a scratch disk or folder to which you want to transfer your media.
For more information about selecting scratch disks, see the Final Cut Pro 6 User Manual,
Volume 1, Chapter 11, “Connecting DV Video Equipment.”
4 Choose File > Log and Transfer.
5 Use the Log and Transfer window to transfer footage from the Sony Video Disk Unit.
See the following sections for details about using the Log and Transfer window:
“Using the Browse Area” on page 78
“Using the Preview Area” on page 82
“Using the Logging Area” on page 84
“Using the Transfer Queue” on page 86
Important: Do not attempt to copy media files from a mounted Sony Video Disk Unit
directly to your scratch disk. Media files copied directly from a Sony Video Disk Unit in
this way are not QuickTime media files, and they will not be handled properly if you
import them into Final Cut Pro.
