GATHERING/SHIRRING FOOT (#J50885)
1. Tension settings for gathering:
Left needle 4 Differential feed 2.0
Right needle 4 Stitch length 4
Upper looper 4
Lower looper 4
2. Replace regular presser foot with gathering foot.
3. Clip both fabric layers approximately 5/8"(1.5 cm.) inside
and 1 1/2"(4 cm.) down.
Lift front of presser foot to place fabric.
4. Place fabric to be gathered (2) underneath the presser foot.
Place fabric which will remain straight (1) between presser
foot and iower metal piece. Push clipped portion througtl
slot in foot. Lower presser foot.
5. Turn handwheel to make 4 - 5 stitches in the fabric, making
sure to catch both upper and lower layers.
6. Serge. Use both hands to guide fabric, one on the under
layer of fabric. Keep in mind that the lower piece of fabric
will move faster as it is gathering than the top piece.

1. Fijacion de tension para fruncir:
Aguja izquierda 4 Transporte diferencial 2.0
Aguja derecha 4 Longitud de puntada 4
Ancora superior 4
Ancora inferior 4
2. Cambiar el pie prensatelas regular con el pie de fruncido.
3. Cortar ambos tejidos aproximadamente 5/8"(1.5 cm) interior
y 1 1/2" (4 cm) abajo. Levantar el parte frontal del pie
prensatelas para colocar el tejido.
Colocar el tejido que se frunce (2) debajo del pie
prensatelas. Colocar el tejido que queda recto (!) entre pie
prensatelas y pieza de metal de abalo. Empujar porcion
cortada a tray, s de la abertura de pie. Bajar el pie
prensatelas.
5. Girar el volante para coser 4 - 5 puntadas sobre el tejido.
6. Sobrehilar. Usar ambos manos para guiar el tejido, uno
sobre el tejido de abajo. Cuidarse que el tejido de abajo
movera mas r&pido que otro.
