DECORATIVE EFFECTS EFECTOS DECORATIVOS
In addition to normal overlocking which is fully described in this
instruction book, your machine can also be used for a number
of decorative applications such as decorative top-stitching,
butted seams, pin-tucking or making lengths of decorative
braid. See below.
Decorative top-stitching - using three threads (flat seam)
Fold fabric along the line to be top-stitched and sew over the
folded edge, making sure not to cut into the fold. (Fig1)
Unfold the fabric, pull the ends of the threads to the underside
and press flat. (Fig.2)
The final appearance can be enhanced by using buttonhole
twist or embroidery thread on the lower looper.
Butted seams - using three threads (flat seam)
Place two pieces of fabric wrong sides together and overlock
along the edge, Unfold and press. (Fig.3)
By using different coloured fabrics and thread a pleasing
'patchwork' effect can be achieved.
Pin-tucking - using three threads
Fold fabric along a line to be pin-tucked and overlock sew along
the folded edge, making sure not to cut into the folded edge of
the fabric. (See page 31). Pull ends of threads to the underside
and press. (Fig.4)
Making decorative braid - using three threads
Overlock over a cord or braid, holding it carefully with both
hands, making sure notto cut the edge. (See page 31). (Fig5)
NOTE:
*If you use blind hem foot (option, see page 34),
decorative stitch is made easily.
*'*Reduce the upper looper tension when you use thick
thread.

Puntada superior decorativa - usando tres hilos (costura
plana)
Plegar el tejido a Io largo de una llnea donde se desea reatizar
decorado superior y coser a Io largo del borde plegado,
asegur&ndose de no cortar el borde. (Fig. 1)
Desplegar el tegido, tirar los extremos de hilos al lado de abajo
y empujar piano. ( Fig. 2)
La apariencia final puede ser mejorada por usada et hilo de ojal
o de bordado para ancora superior,
Dobladillo topeteado - usando tres hilos (costura piano)
Colocar dos piezas de tejido juntando los lados de abajo y
pespuntear a Io largo de orilla. Desplegar y prensar. ( Fig. 3)
Usando los tejidos y hilos de color diferente el efecto 'la obra de
remiendo' se puede realizar.
Costuras de vivos - usando 3 hilos
Plegar el tejido a Io largo de una linea donde se desea realizar
et vivo y coser a Io largo del borde plegado, asegur&ndonos de
no cortar el borde. (Ver p&gina 31). Para evitar el corte
acompar_aremos al telido con ambas manos. ( Fig. 4)
Hacer trenzas decorativas - usando 3 hilos
Coser un pespunte sobre un cordon o trenza mateniendolo
cuidadosamente con ambas manos, asegur&ndonos de no
cortar el horde. (Ver pagina 31). ( Fig. 5)
NOTA: *Si use el pie de plegado o puntada invisible (opci6n,
ver p&gina 34), puede obtener puntada decorativa
f&cilmente.
**Reducir la tension de ancora superior cuando use
hilo grueso.
