OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
FOR YOUR SAFETY READ BEFORE LIGHTING
WARNING: If you do not follow these instructions exactly, a fire or explosion
may result causing property damage, personal injury, or loss of life.
A. The Bayvue DV has a pilot light system that must be lit by hand.
Follow these instructions exactly, when lighting the pilot.
B. BEFORE LIGHTING the pilot light, it is important to smell all around
the Bayvue DV for potential gas leaks. Be sure to smell next to the
floor because some gas fuel is heavier than air and will settle to the
lowest point.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU SMELL GAS
C. Use hand pressure to push in or turn the
ON/PILOT/OFF control knob. Do not use a
tool. If the control knob will not push in or
turn by hand, do not attempt repair. Call a
qualified service technician. Attempted repair
may result in fire or explosion.
• Do not try to light the Bayvue DV.
• Do not touch any electrical switch; do not use any phone in your
building.
• Immediately call your gas supplier from a neighbor’s phone.
Follow the gas supplier’s instructions.
• If you cannot reach your gas supplier, call the fire department.
D. Do not use the Bayvue DV if any part has
been under water. Immediately call a
qualified service technician to inspect the
Bayvue DV and replace any part of the
control system and any gas control that has
been under water.
