Buttonhole Making (Continued)
4. am Mark your buttonhe]e position carelully on the garment.
b. Placing your garment behind the machine, insert it between the guide plate
and the buttonhole toot as shown.
c. Align marked buttonhole'with center marking on buttonhole toot.
d. Line up your tablic edge with the measurement markings on the guide plate
just in lront of the buttonhole toot as shown.
e_ Pierce the fabdc with the needle at the beginning of the buttonhole.
NOTE: If you want your buttonhole to be 1/2 inch from the garment edge, line up
the fabric with the 112 inch markings each time you start to sew a
buttonhole,
We recommended the use of interlacing when making buttonholes.
If the fabric does not teed smoothly lrom the start, increase the stitch
length,
5. a. Lower the buttonhole toot.
b. Start sewing slowly.
c. Allow the machine to do the work by itself.
(Do not try to guide the fabric.)
d. Stop sewing when the needle returns to the position where it beg{ns.
To release the buttonhole base plate, pull the lever toward you and lift the base
plate off the machine.
Adiusting the stitch density
You may alter the closeness of the stitches by turning the stitch length control
between 3 and 4.
