Ductwork shouldbe designedand sized accordingto applicablemethods fromthe Air ConditioningContractorsof
America(ACCA).
It is recommendedthat supplyand return duct connectionsat the unitbe madewith flexible joints.
' The supplyand return air ductsystemsshouldbe designedfortheCFM staiicrequirementsof thejob. Theyshould
NOT be sized Io match the dimensionsol theduct connectionson the unit.
NOTE:SUPPLYDUCTFLANGESARESHIPPEDFLATAND MUSTBEBENTUPBEFOREAFI'ACHINGTHESUPPLYDUCT,
Toconnectthe returnducttothe unJt,usea straightpieceof duct22" wideby 7" deep.Insert theductintothereturn
openingin thebottomoftheunit. Flangetheductoverthe existingflangesaroundthe openinginsideunit. Make sure
thatall sidesof theductare flangedovertopermitremovalof coolingchassisif required.Usea flexibleconnectionto
attachremainderof returnduct.The returnductshouldbe sealedtothe unitcasingand terminateoutsidethe space
containingthe furnace,
NOTE:THE RETURNDUCTMUST ALLOWFORTHE UNIT DRAINPANCONNECTIONSAND DRAINTUBE.
CAUTION:00 NOT SCREWINTOTHE SIDEOF THE DRAINPAN.
AIR FILTER
Allindoorreturn airmustbefiltered.A permanent-type filter isfurnished withtheunit. locateddirectly behindtheac-
cess panel. Removingthe panel permitsaccessto the filter.
The tilter shouldbecleanedat leastthreetimesduringeach oftheheatingandcoolingseasons,ormorefrequently if
unusualconditionsare encountered.To cleanthe permanentfiller, shake filterto removeexcessdirt and/or use
vacuumcleaner. Washtilterin soapor detergentwater and replacealter filteris dry.
The filter suppliedneed not be oiledalter washing.
