q Pattern: 26 (mode 2)
w Presser foot: Automatic buttonhole foot R
e Thread tension: AUTO
A welted buttonhole is made by stitching a strip or
patch of fabric to the buttonhole.
Welted buttonholes are particularly suited to tailored
garments, but are not recommended for sheer or
delicate fabrics where the patch might show through or
add bulk.
z Baste a patch to the garment fabric with the right sides
together.

x Select pattern 26. Sew the welted buttonhole on both
fabrics together (see pages 39–41 for sewing
procedure.)
c Cut the buttonhole opening as illustrated then pull the
patch out through the slit to the other side.

v Pull out the patch until the right side of the patch is
showing. Use an iron to press both corner ends until
they are squared off.
