TROUBLESHOOTING
Continued
POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Turning gas control knob to
HI position when burner is
cold

OBSERVED PROBLEM
Heat produces a whistling noise
when burner is lit
Glass soots
Fireplace produces a clicking/
ticking noise just after burners
are lit or shut off
Remote does not function
Fireplace shuts off in use.
Burner backring during com-
bustion
REMEDY
1. Turn gas control knob to LO
position and let warm up for a
minute
2. Operate burner until air is
removed from line. Have gas
line checked by pro pane/LP
or natural gas company
3. Clean burner (see Cleaning
and Maintenance, page 23) or
replace burner orice
1. Adjust the log set so the ame
does equipment shutoff valve
2. Inspect the opening at the base
of the burner to see that it is
not packed with any type of
material
1. This is normal. If noise is
excessive, contact qualified
service person
1. Replace 9-volt batteries in
receiver and remote control
1. Fireplace has been tested for
up to 40 mph winds. However,
extreme conditions may occur.

4. Locate and correct all vent
conditions (see Checking for
Proper Venting, page 10)
5. Clean burner tube and orice,

ing Burners, page 22)
6. Replace faulty components

or remove debris or blockage
