Itisagoodideatoplanyourinstallationonpaper,usingexact
measurementsfor clearances andoor protection,before
actuallybeginningtheinstallation.Ifyouarenotusingan
existingchimney,placetheappliancewheretherewillbea
clearpassageforafactory-builtlistedchimneythroughthe
ceilingandroof.
Werecommendthataqualiedbuildinginspectorandyour
insurancecompanyrepresentativereviewyourplansbefore
andafterinstallation
Ifthisapplianceisinanareawherechildrenmaybenearit
isrecommendedthatyoupurchaseadecorativebarriertogo
infrontoftheappliance.
Remembertoalwayskeepchildren
away whileit is operating and do not let anyone operate
thisapplianceunlesstheyarefamiliarwiththeseoperating
instructions.
B. Fire Safety
To providereasonable resafety, thefollowing shouldbe

1. Installatleastone smoke detector on eachoor of
your home toensure your safety. They should be
located away from the heating appliance andclose
to the sleepingareas. Followthesmoke detector
manufacturer’splacementandinstallationinstructions,
andbesuretomaintainregularly.
2. A conveniently located ClassA fire extinguisher
to contend with small fires resulting from burning
embers.
3. Apracticedevacuationplan,consistingofatleasttwo
escaperoutes.

NOTE: Service Space
In order to replace the tube channel a clearance of 17
inches (432mm)is required onthe rightside ofstove in
ordertoremovethetubeswiththestoveinplace.
Ifspaceisnotavailable,thestovewillhavetobediscon-
nectedfromthechimneytoproceedwiththetubereplace-
ment.See page 32.
