INSTALLATION STEP 6
Install the Lights
1. Pressthe releasetabs on both sides of lens. Gentlyrotate lens
back and downward until the lens hinge is in thefully open
position. Do not removethe lens.
2. Insertan A19 incandescentor compact fluorescent light bulb
(100 watt maximum), into the light socket. Thelights will turn
ONand remainlit for approximately 4-1/2 minutes when power
is connected. Thenthe lights will turn OFF.
3. Reversethe procedureto close the lens.
4. If the bulbs burn out prematurelydue to vibration, replacewith
a garage door opener bulb. UseA19, standard neck garage
door opener for replacement.
NOTE:Useonly standard light bulbs. The useof short neck or
speciality light bulbs may overheatthe endpanel or light socket.
To prevent possible OVERHEATINGof the end panelor light
socket:
UseONLYA19 incandescentor compact fluorescent light
bulbs.
DONOTuse incandescentbulbs larger than IOOW.
DONOTuse compact fluorescent light bulbs larger than
26W (IOOW) equivalent.
DONOTuse halogen bulbs.
DONOTuse short neck or specialty light bulbs.

Attach the Emergency Release Rope and Handle
1. Threadone end of the rope through the hole inthe top of the
red handleso "NOTICE"reads right side up asshown, Secure
with an overhandknot at least1" (2.5 cm) from the end of the
ropeto prevent slipping,
2. Threadthe other end of the rope through the hole inthe release
arm of the outer trolley.
3. Adjustrope lengthso the handle is6 feet (1.83 m) abovethe
floor, Ensurethat the rope and handle clearthe tops of all
vehiclesto avoid entanglement,Securewith an overhand knot,
NOTE:If it is necessaryto cut the rope, heat sealthe cut end with
a match or lighter to prevent unraveling.
To prevent possible SERIOUSINJURYor DEATHfrom a falling
garagedoor:
If possible, useemergency releasehandleto disengage
trolley ONLYwhen garagedoor is CLOSED.Weak or broken
springs or unbalanceddoor could result in an open door
falling rapidly and/or unexpectedly.
NEVERuseemergency releasehandle unlessgaragedoorway
is clear of persons and obstructions.
NEVERusehandle to pull door open or closed. If ropeknot
becomes untied, you could fall.
