A SERVICE OF

logo

The printer sounds like it is printing, but nothing prints.
Cause What to do
The print head nozzles are
clogged.
Clean the print head. See “Cleaning
the Print Head” on page 8-37. If this
does not work after four or five trials,
see below.
One or more of the ink
cartridges have been used
longer than six months or
beyond the date on the
packaging.
Try cleaning the print head. If that
does not solve the problem, replace
the ink cartridges as described on page
7-2.
The printer operation check prints well, but nothing prints
from within an application program.
Cause What to do
Your printer is not selected in
your software.
Select your printer in the printer setup
section of your software.
The interface cable does not
meet both the printer and
computer requirements.
Use an interface cable that meets both
printer and computer specifications.
See “Connecting the Printer to Your
PC” or “Connecting the Printer to
Your Macintosh” in the Setup Guide.
Also see “Interface Specifications” in
Appendix A.
Your computer system’s
memory is too small to
handle the volume of data
in your document.
Try reducing the image resolution of
your document in your image-editing
software.
Install more memory in your
computer if you can.
Select lower resolution or less colors
for your display setting as described
below.
