H Position the sensorĆhead so that it does not
shadow the surface being measured. Shadowing
will occur if the surface is being measured from
direction of the illumination.
H Do not operate the head in contact with the
surface. Placing the head too close to the surface
may cause shadowing. Reflections may also
occur between the front surface of the head and
the surface to be measured.
The light shield or suction cup provides adequate
spacing between the head and the surface to
prevent reflection on backlighted surfaces.
H Check for cable damage where the cable enters
the photometer plug and sensorĆhead. Be careful
not to stress the sensor cable and damage it.
H Do not flex the sensorĆhead cable when taking
lowĆlight measurements. The high sensitivity of
the photometer will detect charges generated in
the cable when used at high sensitivity ranges.
If measurements are still incorrect, the sensorĆhead
may require calibration. Contact your Tektronix repreĆ
sentative.
RSĆ232 Port Does Not Work
Check the following to make sure that you are propĆ
erly connected to the RSĆ232 port:
H Check the terminal software to make sure it is
addressing the correct COM port.
H Check the communication protocols to make
sure they agree with those in the Specifications
section.
