Low Battery Warning
When battery voltage is below 7.2 volts, the J17 PhoĆ
tometer displays the flashing warning BAT in the upper
left corner of its display. At this point, you should reĆ
place the alkaline battery (see below).
If the battery voltage is below 7.2Ăvolts at initial
powerĆon, the J17 will not proceed past the selfĆtest.
Replacing the Alkaline Battery
To replace the alkaline battery, refer to FigureĂ1Ć2.

ăStep 1:ăTurn off the J17 Photometer.
ăStep 2:ăOpen the battery compartment located on
the back cover of the J17.
ăStep 3:ăRemove the used battery, and replace it
with a fresh one, arranging the wires so that they
will not interfere with the battery cover.
ăStep 4:ăClose the battery compartment.
ăStep 5:ăTurn on the J17 and make sure that the
lowĆbattery (BAT) warning is no longer flashing.
