Pulling Up the Bobbin Thread
There may be some sewing applications when you want to pull up the bobbin thread, for example,
when making gathers, darts, free motion quilting or embroidery.
1. Guide the bobbin thread through the groove, follow-
ing the arrow in the illustration. Do not cut the thread.
* Do not replace the bobbin cover.
2. While holding the upper thread, press the needle posi-
tion button to raise the needle.
3. Gently pull the upper thread, and a loop of the bobbin
thread will come out of the hole in the needle plate.
4. Pull up the bobbin thread, then pass it under the presser
foot and pull it about 100 mm (3-4 inch) toward the
back of the machine, matching the upper thread.
5. Replace the bobbin cover.
