Gentlytap suppliedplasticanchorsintothe holes in thewall.

Place the thermostatrearbody(mounting plate)againstthewallin thedesiredlocation
makingsure the mountingholesarealignedasappropriateand the thermostatwires
areproperlyinsertingthroughopeningin middle of rearbody.
10.
Fastentherearbody (mounting plate) to wallusingsuppliedscrews.

Connectwiresto quickwiringterminalblockas appropriateusingthenewterminal
designations. RefertoWiringDiagramsection of thismanualifrequired for assistance.
12.
Makesureallof the wireconnectionsaresecureandarenot touchingany other
terminalto preventelectricalshortsand potentialdamagetothe thermostat.
13.
Attachfrontbody of thermostatto rearbodyof thermostatbeingcarefulto alignthe
terminalpinson the frontbodywiththe terminalblock on the rear body.
14.
Openfrontthermostatdoorandopenbatterycompartmentdoor.
15.
Installtwo new "AA"alkalinebatteries into battery compartment. Makesureto locate
thepositive(+) ends of the batteriesandmatchthemwiththe positive(+)terminals
locatedin thebatterycompartment.
16.
Close battery compartment.
17.
Restoresystempowersoyou cantestinstallation.

NOTE: Test yourthermostat prior toprogramming any user settings. Pressing the
RESET buttonwill erase any userentries for time ofday,day of week,option settings
and programmingif previously programmed.Thiswill return alluser settings and
return themto their default values. Remember,this will erase all programsentered by
the user.

Read BEFORE Testin g
• Do notshort (or jumper) across terminals on the gas valveor at the heatingor
cooling system control boardto testthe thermostat installation. This coulddamage
the thermostat andvoid the warranty.
• Do notselect COOLmode of operation ifthe outsidetemperature is below 50˚F
(10˚ C). This could possibly damage the controlled coolingsystem &may cause
personal injury.
•This thermostatincludes anautomatic compressorprotection feature to avoid
potential damage tothe coolingsystem from short cycling.Thisthermostat
automatically provides a5-minute delayafter turningoff the cooling system output
to protect thecompressor.This protection is alsopresent inthe heat mode of
operation onsingle stageheatpump systems toprotect thecompressor.

TESTING YOUR

1. Place the system switch in the HEAT position.
2. Press the buttonon thekeypaduntilthesetpoint temperaturesettingisa minimum of 3degrees
higherthan the currentroom temperature. The heatingsystemshould startwithinseveral
seconds.The fan maynot turn on immediatelydueto theheatingsystem built-infandelay.
3. Place the system switch in the OFF position. The heatingsystemshould stop withinseveral
seconds.
4. Wait5 minutesfortheautomatic compressorshortcycleprotectionperiodtoexpire,or pressthe
RESET buttonto bypass this featurefor initialtestingpurposes. Pressing the RESETbutton will
erase any userentriesfortimeof day,dayof week,optionsettings &programmingif previously
programmed.
5. Place the system switch in the COOL position.
6. Press the buttonon thekeypaduntilthesetpoint temperatureis aminimumof 3degreeslower
thanthecurrent room temperature.
7. Thecoolingsystemshouldstart withinseveralseconds. Placethesystemswitch in the OFF
position. The coolingsystemshould stop within90 seconds(dependentonthe settingof the
ResidualCooling FanFeature).
8. Place the fanswitchin the ON position. Thesystem blower shouldstart.
9. Place the fanswitchin the AUTOposition. The systemblowershouldstop.
