Replacing ExistingThermostat
1.
Always turn off powerto the airconditioningorheatingsystem prior to removingexisting
thermostat.
2.
Removethe cover of yourold thermostat and locatethewireterminals. Do not remove
wires from terminals yet.
3.
Using smallpiecesof maskingtapelabelwirespriorto removalfromterminals. Usethe
chart below to determinethe new terminaldesignationsforyournew thermostat.

Replacing ExistingThermostat cont.

After labelingandremovingall wires from terminals,unscrewtheexisting thermostat
mountingbasefromwall. Makesureto securewiresto preventthemfromslipping
backintotheholein thewall.
NOTE: Thisthermostat is foruse on low voltage 24VoltAC multi-stage heat pump
systems withup to two stagesof heating andtwo stages ofcooling and requires a
transformer commonwire for proper installation.This thermostatis not foruse on
single stageheating orcooling systems.

Installing YourNew Thermostat
NOTE: Ifyou are installing thisthermostat in anew installation be sureto locate
the thermostat4 to 5feet above the floor inaccordance with applicable building
codes. Make sureto install the thermostat in alocation that providesgood airflow
characteristics andavoid areas behind doors,near corners,air vents,direct sunlight
or nearany heat generatingdevice. Installation inanyof theseareas could impact
thermostat performance.
1.
Always turn off powerto the airconditioningorheatingsystem prior to installingyournew
thermostat.
2.
Place systemswitchon frontof thermostatto OFF position.
3.
Place fan control switchon frontofthermostatto AUTOposition.
4.
Removefrontof thermostatbodyfromrear body by pressing releaselatchon bottomof
front body.
5.
Place the thermostatrearbody(mounting plate)againstwallin the desired thermostat
location.
6.
Guide thermostat wiresthroughcenter hole in rearbody. Continueto holdrearbody
againstwall.
