standard 270---95.

Do not compare these values to sound pressure values
because sound pressure acc ounts for specific environ-
mental factors which do not match individual applica-
tions. Sound power values are independent of the envir-
onment and therefore more accurate.
3. A---weighted sound ratings filter out very high and very
low frequencies, t o better approximate the response of
“average” human ear. Bryant’s A---weighted measure-
ments are taken in accordance with 270---95.
