G. Cutting width
The cutting width dial sets the distance between the
needle and where the blades cut fabrics.
Turn the dial until the readout on the display panel is
visible in the side door window.
NOTE:
The stitch width of Flat Lock 2 can be adjusted with this
dial.
Example:
• 3 Thread Wide:
Set the cutting width dial to N.
• Overcast 2:
Set the cutting width dial to 1.
HINT:
Open the left side cover to fully expose the cutting
width dial to more easily turn the dial for wider widths.
IMPORTANT:
Never turn the cutting width dial if threads are forming
a stitch around the chaining finger. Remove threads by
raising presser foot and gently pulling them to the back.
IMPORTANT:
Switch off the machine when setting up the machine.
H. Upper knife
To disengage the upper knife (down)
Hand turn the handwheel to bring the needle bar to
its highest position. Open the front and side covers.
Push the upper knife release knob to the right and
turn it towards you.
NOTE:
Do not allow the fabric edge to extend beyond the
right side of the needle plate when sewing with the
upper knife disengaged.
To engage upper knife (up)
Push the upper knife release knob to the right and
turn it away from you.
Example:
