C. Installing Non-combustible Facing

Fire Risk.
• Follow these instructions exactly.
• Facing materials must be installed properly
to prevent fire.
• No materials may be substituted without
authorization by Hearth & Home
Technologies.
• Center and attach top board to the framing members
(see Figure 7.3).
• Use fasteners from fastener packet (in manual bag) in
shaded areas (Figure 7.3).
• Use regular sheetrock screws in non-shaded areas (see
Figure 7.3).
WARNING
Fire Risk.
• ALWAYS maintain specified
clearances around the appliance.
• Do NOT notch into the framing around the appliance spacers.
Failure to keep insulation, framing or other material away
from the appliance may cause fire.
• Place the appliance into position.
• Level the appliance from side to side and front to back.
• Shim the appliance, as necessary. It is acceptable to
use wood shims.
• Bend out nailing tabs on each side.
• Keep nailing tabs flush with the framing.
• Secure the appliance to the framing by using nails or screws
through the nailing tabs.

The diagram shows (Figure 7.2) the location of the nailing tabs
provided to secure the appliance to the framing members.
B. Securing and Leveling the Appliance
Fire Risk.
• Prevent contact with sagging, loose
insulation.

Do NOT install against combustible
materials such as exposed insulation,
plastic and insulation backer.
