Ventingthroughtheceiling/roofmaybetheonly
feasibleventingoptioninsomecasesandisafactory
recommendedinstallation.
Wheninstallinganyventingsystem,TypeLorType
PLpipemustbeusedandallclearancesto
combustibleslistedbythepipemanufacturermust
bestrictlyadheredto.
Usethepipemanufacturer’sapprovedceiling
supportforpassingthroughacombustibleceiling,as
wellastherequiredfirestops,radiationshields,
flashingandstormcollar.
Becertaintofollowthemanufacturer’srequired
heightofterminationabovetheroofline,and
maintainatleasttheminimumclearancesto
combustibles.
Useanappliancecollarwherethepelletvent
connectstotheexhaustoutputofthepelletstove
andattachtheappliancecollartotheexhaustbloweroutputusingthreesheetmetal
screws.
SealeachpipeconnectionjointwithhightemperatureRTVSilicone,toensurethesystemis
leakfree(Checkwiththespecificpipemanufacturer’sinstructionsbeforedoingso).
Ifthepelletventpipebeingusedisnota“TwistLock”system,three(3)sheetmetalscrews
arerequiredateachpipejoint.
Connectthepelletstovetooutsidecombustionairusingthekitincludedwithyour
stoveor
usinganalternativemethod,asdescribedinthe“OutsideAir”section,onpage14.
Thisventingmethodcanalsobemodifiedsothattheventingsystemrunshorizontally
throughthewallfromthestove,thentransitionstoverticalandterminatesabovethe
roofline.Whenusingthismodifiedversionofthisinstallationbecertaintocarefullyfollow
theventingsystemmanufacturer’sinstructionsdiligently.
