Removing and Replacing the Engine Oil
Tools & Supplies Recommended:
Pliers
SAE 30 HD, 20 oz. (0.60L)
Note: Drain the oil when the engine is warm. Warm oil drains quickly and completely.
1. Position a suitable oil receptacle under the engine oil drain and remove the engine oil Fill
Cap (Figure 39).
2. Remove the engine Oil Drain Extension Cap counterclockwise using the pliers (Figure 39).
3. Allow the used oil to drain completely, then reinstall the Drain Extension Cap and
tighten securely.
4. Replace the engine oil using SAE 30 HD oil. See page 23.
5. Replace the spark plug wire.
Note: If the oil is not to be reused, be sure to use environmentally safe disposal procedures
in the disposing of the used oil.
WARNING! Before performing any maintenance procedure, stop the
engine and disconnect the spark plug wire.
