2. Safety Information
For Household Use Only
When using thevacuum cleaner, basicsafety precautions
should always beobserved, including thefollowing:
1. Only use thevacuum cleanerindoors on dry
surfaces.
2. Turn off thevacuum cleaner controls before
connecting ordisconnecting fromthe mains supply.
3. Always unplugthe vacuum cleaner before
connecting ordisconnecting thevacuum hoseand
accessories.
4. Close attention isnecessary when used byor near
children. Donot allow childrento use as
a toy.
5. Use only asdescribed in thismanual.
Use only themanufacturer’srecommended
attachments.
6. Do not usethe vacuum cleanerif it hasbeen
dropped, damaged,left outdoors ordropped into
water. Donot usethe vacuum cleaner witha
damaged cord orplug. If thesupply cord orplug is
damaged, return the vacuum cleanerto aVax
Authorised ServiceAgent orsuitably qualified
person for examination, repairor adjustment.
7. Do not pullor carry bythe cord. Donot usethe cord
as a handle,close a dooron the cord orpull the cord
around sharpedges or corners.Do not runthe
vacuum cleanerover thecord. Keepthe cord away
from heated surfaces.
8. Do not handlethe plug orvacuum cleaner withwet
hands. Do notuse outdoors oron wet surfaces.
9. Do not putany objects into openings.Do not use
with any openingsblocked and donot restrict air
flow. Keepall openings free of dust, lint,hair or
anything that may reduceairflow.
10. Keep hair,loose clothing, fingersand all partsof the
body away from openingsand moving parts.
11. Donot pickup hot coals, cigarette butts,matchesor
any hot, smokingor burning objects.
12. Donot pickup flammable orcombustible materials
(lighter fluid, petrol, kerosene, etc) oruse in the
presence ofexplosive liquidsor vapours.
13. Donot vacuum upharmful ortoxic material (chlorine
bleach, ammonia, draincleaner, etc).
14. Donot vacuum uphard orsharp objects suchas
glass, nails, screws, coins, etc.
15. Donot usewithout the filters inplace.
16. Take extra care whenvacuuming onstairs.
17. Keep vacuuming areawell lit.
18. Store thevacuum cleanerindoors in acool, dryarea.
19. Turn off the on/off switch before unplugging the
vacuum cleaner.
20. Useonly CE-approved 13 ampextension cords. Non-
approved extension cords may overheat. Careshould
be taken to arrangethe cord sothat thecord cannot
be pulled ortripped over.
WARNING: Always switch off andunplug the
vacuum cleanerfrom theelectrical outlet
before assembling,opening or emptying thedirt
container, or before connecting/disconnecting the
attachments.
CAUTION: The vacuum cleaneris a very powerful
unit. Before pluggingthe cord into theelectrical
outlet, makesure theswitch is inthe ‘off’ position. Hold
the vacuum cleanerfirmly when starting and inuse.
IMPORTANT:If the inlet, hoseor extension tubeis
blocked, switchoff the vacuum cleanerand
remove theblockage(s) before re-starting the vacuum
cleaner.
IMPORTANT:Cleaning filters regularlyimproves
vacuum performance. Makesure allfilters are
replaced backinto the vacuum cleanerbefore using.This
vacuum cleaneris intended for householduse only and
not for commercialor industrial use.

Motor Thermostat
IMPORTANT: The motor is equipped with a
thermal cut-out. If for any reason, the vacuum
cleaner should over-heat, the thermostat will
automatically turn the unit off. Should this occur,
unplug the vacuum cleaner from the electrical outlet
and turn off the switch. Remove the dirt container
and empty. Cleanthe filters. Allow thecleaner to cool
for approximately one (1) hour. To re-start, plug into
an electrical outletand switch backon.
