8. General maintenance
WARNING: to reduce riskof injuryfrom moving
parts - unplugbefore servicing.
Debris removal/hose
Debris removal/nozzle guard
• Check tosee if dirt container isfull; empty if needed.
• Plugcleaner in andcheck to seeif there isany suction
at endof hose.If there is nosuction at the endof hose,
follow these steps:
1. Unwrap hosefrom caddy.Twist andunlock to remove
clogs. Clean outhose with abroom handle.Check access
door on backof cleaner(near hose end).Remove the
seven (7) screws andcheck for obstruction (Fig.8/1).
2. Remove dirt container (Pg.6) and checkdirt container
inlet located oncleaner (Fig.8/1).
3. Remove nozzle guard (seeFig.8/2) by removing the
three (3)screws. Remove obstructions (Refer to Page 8
for beltand brushbar removal andreplacement).

PROBLEM: Cleaner won’t run
Cause: Not properlyplugged into wall outlet.
Solution: Plug in firmly.
Cause: No electricity inwall outlet.
Solution: Check fuse orbreaker.
Cause: On/off switch notturned on.
Solution: Push on/off switch to on.
Cause: Motor thermostat tripped.
Solution: Switch off andunplug the vacuum cleaner.
Leave for one(1) hour. Seepage 3.
Cause: Blown fuse/trippedbreaker.
Solution: Reset circuit breaker orreplace fuse.
PROBLEM: Cleaner won't pick up
Cause: Full or cloggeddirt container.
Solution: Clean dirt container.
Cause: Clogged nozzle.
Solution: Remove obstruction.
Cause: Clogged dirt inlet.
Solution: Remove suctionchannel cover and remove
obstruction.
Cause: Clogged hose.
Solution: Remove obstruction.
Cause: Hose not inserted fully.
Solution: Push hose insecurely.
Cause: Dirty filters orfilter container.
Solution: Clean/change filters orfilter container.
PROBLEM: Accessories won't pick up
Cause: Accessories not attachedcorrectly.
Solution: Refer to page 5for fittinginformation.
PROBLEM: Brushbar does not turn
Cause: Brushbar blocked.
Solution: Remove blockages.
PROBLEM: Air flow restricted withattachment use
Cause: Attachment userestricts air flow.
Solution: Check attachment.
Cause: New carpet debrisclogging air path.
Solution: Remove obstruction.
