Timer/Softener, Service Checkout Procedure
If you are not getting soft water, and an error code is not displayed, use the procedures below to
find the problem. First make the following visual checks.
VISUAL CHECKS:
Is there electrical power to the outlet the water softening system transformer
is plugged into?
Is there sufficient salt in the storage tank?
Is the plumbing bypass valve directing water for soft water service?
Is the valve drain hose open to the drain, not elevated too high,
and unobstructed?
If you do not find a problem with the visual checks, continue below.

TIMER SHOWS WRONG
TIME AND DAY, AND/OR
IS FLASHING.

BLANK.
TIMER DISPLAY SHOWS
CORRECT TIME AND DAY
AND IS STEADY.
Check electrical
power to control
(outlet, transformer,
power cable, all
connections).
Do manual
diagnostics.
NO POWER
POWER OK
REPAIR AS
NEEDED
TIMER
DEFECTIVE
Do manual
diagnostics to
verify proper
function.
Electrical power was off.
Reset the correct time
of day.
Investigate reason for
power loss.
