5. ADJUSTMENT
-14. Adjusting the position of the button holder (BE-438B, 438C)

1. Loosen the two hexagonal bolts (1) and adjust
the b
utton holder body (2) by moving it.
2. Check that the needle will go through the button
hole with no contact. (Refer to “CHECKING THE
SEWING PATTERN” in the Instruction Manual.)

-15. Work clamp adjustment (KE-435B, 435C, 436B, 436C)
1. Turn the pulley by hand to set the work clamp (1)
to its lowest point.

Loosen screw (2), set the bottom of the work
clamp (1) lightly against the work piece, and then
tighten screw (2).
Note:
If the work clamp is lowered too far, the work
piece will shift when sewing. Also, if the work
clamp is too high, skipped stitches may occur.
3. Turn the pulley by hand, and make sure the
needle enters the center of the needle hole in the
work clamp (1). If the needle is not aligned with
the center of the needle hole, remove cap (3),
loosen screw (4), and turn the work camp
(presser bar) to adjust.
