The print head
carriage is caught by
jammed paper or
other foreign material
and cannot return to
the home position.
1. Remove any paper from the paper
path by hand.
If you are unable to remove
jammed paper by hand, press the
E
load/eject button until the paper
is fully ejected. If the paper is not
ejected, release the button then
press it again. The paper roller
rotates in the opposite direction.
Release the button after the paper
is fully ejected.
2. Turn off the printer. After a few
seconds, turn it on again.
If the error is not cleared, contact
your dealer.

Status Monitor
If you are printing with Windows 95 or a Macintosh, you can
use the Status Monitor 2 (for Windows 95) or StatusMonitor
(for Macintosh) to check the printer’s current status. For more
details, see Chapter 4, “Using the Printer Software for
Windows”, or Chapter 5, “Using the Printer Software for
Macintosh.”
