SHUT DOWN PROCEDURE
Pressthe buttononthecontrolpadtoputthestoveinshutdownmode.Oncethisisdone,theaugerwillstop
feedingpellets,butthedistributionblowerandexhaustblowerwillcontinuetooperate.Whentheinternaltemperature
oftheunitdropsbelowthefactorypresettemperature,thedistributionblowerandexhaustblowerwillceasetooperate
andtheunitwillbecompletelyshutdown.
Thehottertheunitisduringitsoperation,thelongeritwilltakeforthestovetocompletetheshutdowncycle.Ifthe
stovestaysonformorethan2hoursafterpressingthe buttonandyouaresurethatthereisout,thestovecan
beunpluggedfromtheoutlet.Afterapproximately10seconds,theunitcanbere-connectedtothepowersourceand
thecontrolboardwillbereset.
Operation
START-UP PROCEDURE
Never use gasoline, gasoline-type lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter uid, or similar liquids to start or
“freshen up” a re in this stove. Keep all such liquids well away from the stove while it is in use.
1.) Verifythatthehopperiscleanandfreeofforeignmatterincludingpelletnesanddust.
2.) Verifythatalloftherequiredexhaust/inletconnectionshavebeenmadeinaccordancewiththismanualandthatthe
stoveispluggedintoanoutlet(anoutletsurgeprotectorishighlyrecommended).
3.) Fillthehopperwithwoodpellets;donotallowanypartofthebagoranyotherforeignmaterialintothehopper,as
thismayjamtheauger.
4.) Ensurethatallpelletmatterisclearedfromthehopperseatingsurface.
5.) Closethehopperlid.The unit WILL NOT feed fuel with the hopper lid open.
6.) Makesurethattheviewingdoorissecurelyclosed(thesafetypressureswitchwillnotallowthestovetofeedfuelif
thereisnodraftpressureinsidethestove).
7.) Pressthe buttononthecontrolpadandthenselectthehighestheatrange bypressingthe button.
8.) Thestovewillbegintofeedfuelandtheauto-start ignitor willignitethefuelinapproximately3to5minutes.
When starting the unit for the rst time, the auger mechanism will not be primed with pellets. This will cause
the auto-start ignitor to time out and shut the unit down. Pressing the button again will restart the startup
sequence and the stove should ignite properly. However, on some occassions, this process may need to be
repeated until ignition depending on fuel size and quality.
Asanalternativemethodtotheinitialstartup,priortostep6above,youmayaddahandfulofpelletsoraddpelletsup
totheignitionportintheburnpot.Proceedtostep6thru8.Thepelletsshouldigniteandheaterbeginproperoperation.
Onceaconsistentamehasbeenestablished,youcanadjusttheheatrange onthecontrolpadtoyourdesired
setting,low,medium,orhigh.(Note:Thedistributionblowerwillnotfunctionuntiltheheatexchangerinthestove
reachesthefactorypresettemperature).
First Fire: Adjusttheheatrangetoamediumsettingandallowthestovetooperateinthismannerfor
approximatelythree(3)hours(ormoreifnecessary),allowingthestoveto“cureout”asthepaintandoils
fromthemanufacturingprocessburnoff.Werecommendthatyouopendoorsandwindowsinyourhome
duringthisprocess.Thenadjustheatrangetoyourdesiredsetting.
