Operation
DAILY OPERATION
The hopper and stove top will be hot during operation; therefore, you should always use some type of hand
protection when refueling your stove.
Never place your hand near the auger while the stove is in operation.
Intheeventofapower outage,thestoveWILLNOTfunction.Itisveryimportantthatunitbeventedproperly(with
outsideair),asthenaturaldraftisneededtoclearthesmokefromthestoveduringapoweroutage.IftheunitwasON
whenthepoweroutageoccurred,oneofthefollowingwilltakeplace:
1.) Ifthestoveisstillwarm,itwillresumefeedingfuelandcontinuetooperatenormally.Iftherehasgoneout,you
willhavetopressthe buttonandthenthe buttonagaintobeginanewstart-upsequence.
2.) Ifthestovehascooled-off,itwillresettoitsOFF condition.Atthispoint,youmaypressthe buttonandthe
unit willbeginanewstart-upsequence.
NOTE:Theunitwillalsoshutdownintheeventofanexhaustblowerfailure;ifthisisthecase,theunitwillnotre-start
andyoumustcontactCustomerServiceat(800)750-2723.
SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE FEATURES
Yourstoveincludesanauto-start igniter asastandardfeature.Theuseofotherrestartermaterials(woodchips,
startergel,etc.)isnotnecessary.Bysimplypressingthe buttononthedigitalcontrolpanel,yourstovewillbegin
tofeedfuelandautomaticallystartwithin3to5minutes.
Forsafety,thisstove incorporatesasafety pressure switch thathelpsensurethateverythingisinproperworkingorder
beforefeedingfueltotheburnpot.Becausethestoveworksusinganinduceddraftpressure,thestovewillnotcontinue
tooperateiftheviewingdoorisleftopen;oriftheexhaustblowerfailsortheexhaustsystemisblocked.
Thetemperature limit control (Thermodisc)willpreventyourstovefromoperatingatabnormallyhightemperatures.
Shouldthestovetemperaturereachthefactorypre-setlimit,200°F(93°C),thetemperaturelimitcontrolwillautomatically
stoptheaugerfeedrateuntilthetemperaturereturnstoanormalcondition.
Failure to clean and maintain this unit as indicated can result in poor performance and safety hazards.
Unplug your stove’s electrical cord prior to removing the back panel or opening the exhaust system for any
inspection, cleaning, or maintenance work.
Never perform any inspections, cleaning, or maintenance on a hot stove.
Do not operate stove with broken glass , leakage of ue gas may result.
EXHAUST SYSTEM
Thebyproductsofcombustioncontainsmallparticlesofyash.Flyashwillcollectintheexhaustventingsystemand
restricttheowofuegases.Incompletecombustion,suchasduringstartup,shutdown,orincorrectoperationofthe
stovewillleadtosootformationwhichwillcollectintheexhaustsystem.Therefore,itisimportantthattheexhaust
systembeinspected and cleaned at least monthly duringtheburningseason.
Checkthecleanoutteesperiodicallytodeterminetherequiredcleaningschedule.3or4-inchchimneybrushesare
availableforchimneycleaning.Iftheexhaustsystemoroutsideairpipeshavescreensonthem,frequentlycleanthe
screen.Apluggedscreenwillshutoffcombustionairandcausearetodieorburnpoorly.
