This stitch is useful in garment construction, and in finishing
raw edges of any sewing project.
If using the zigzag foot, start overcasting with the leftmost
needle position about 1/8˝ (0.3 cm) from the raw edge of a
seam. The right tip of the stitch should just clear the seam
edge.
For lightweight fabrics, use the overedge foot. To sew, line
the fabric edge up with the inner side of the brush holder
seam guide .

1. Insert the rear pin on the foot into the groove of the foot
holder. Gently lower the presser foot lifter while holding
the foot with your finger.
2. Place a button on the fabric and lower the needle by
turning the handwheel with your hand, so that the needle
enters through the left hole in the button.
3. Align the direction of button and lowrer the button
sewing foot to hold the button in the place.
Adjust the stitch width so that the zigzag width matches
the span of holes in the button.
4. Press foot control and sew about 10 stitches.
5. Cut the needle thread at the beginning.
6. Pull the bobbin thread to pull the needle thread to the
wrong side of the fabric.
7. Tie both threads together.
