7.!Open!burn !pot!clean-out!!as!shown!to!the!left,
clean!fly!ash!from!burn!pot!and!replace !cover.
8.!Clean!heat!exchanger!with !scraper!as !shown!in!fig

9.!Brush!or !scrape!the!inside !of!the!stove!to!remove
fly!ash.
10.!Scrape!burnpot !with!flat!end!of!scraper!provided
with!the!stove.!Fig. !33.
11.Slide!ash!pan!into !stove!and!latch!into!place.

Soot!and!Fly!Ash
The!products!of!combustion!will!contain!small
particles!of!fly!ash.!!The!fly!ash!will!collect !in
the!exhaust!venting!system!and!restrict!the!flow
of!the!flue!gases.!!Incomplete!combustion,
such!as!occurs!during!startup,!shutdown,!or
incorrect!operation!of!the!room!heater ,!will
lead!to!some!soot!formation!which!will
collect!in!the!exhaust!venting!system.!!The
exhaust!venting!system!should!be!in-
spected!at!least!once!every!year !to!de-
termine!if!cleaning!is!necessary.
