6. Parts in water flow valve (#38411) are cor-
roded
The gas valve will not open fully if water valve
parts are corroded. Replace both parts in wa-
ter valve (#38475, 33071).
HOT WATER TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATES
1. Temperature setting is too high
Setting the temperature too high will make it
necessary to add a great deal of cold water to
make the temperature safe and comfortable for
contact with the skin. Adding too much cold to
the hot water flow at the tap can create an im-
balance and reduce the flow of water through
the AquaStar causing the flow through the
AquaStar to fall below the minimal 1.1 gallon/
minute. We recommend setting the tempera-
ture selector dial on #4 or #5. See section on
Setting Water Temperature, Page 12.
when mixing cold water at the tap, the lower
water pressure on the hot side may be momen-
tarily overpowered by a much higher cold wa-
ter pressure, which may cause the AquaStar
burners to shut down. Make sure faucet aera-
tors or shower heads are free of minerals.
Check that the flow restrictor and filter of the
AquaStar are clean. Avoid running the
AquaStar at the highest temperature setting.
3. Cold water is mixing with the hot water
between the AquaStar and the outlet
Check for automatic mixing valve or plumbing
crossover (see #6, MAIN BURNERS WILL NOT
IGNITE) Where automatic "anti-scald" valves
are required by code, lower the temperature
setting on the AquaStar as much as possible
and balance the pressure betwen cold and hot
water after the AquaStar.
4. Inlet water pressure is erratic due to inad-
equate supply water pressure or saturated
pressure tank on well system
Check the inlet water pressure and correct if
necessary.
2. Unbalanced pressure in water lines
The added flow restriction caused by an AquaStar
inthe hot water system can result in uneven pres-
sures between the cold and the hot. In such cases
FLOWS IN GALLONS PER MINUTE -based on ground water temperature of 55ºF
*Range described above will be lower if inlet temperature is below 55ºF
