Donottrytolightanyappliance.
Do not touchany electricswitch;do not useany

Immediatelycallyourgassupplierfroma neighbor's
phone.Followthegassupplier'sinstructions,

Useonlyyourhandtopushinor turnthegascontrol
knob.Neverusetools.If the knobwillnotpushin or
turnbyhand,don'ttryto repairit, calla qua,fledser-
vicetechnician.Forceor attemptedrepairmayresult
inafireorexplosion.
Donotusethisapplianceif anyparthas beenunder
water.Immediatelycall a qualifiedservicetechnician
toinspecttheapplianceandto replaceany partofthe
controlsystemandanygas controlwhichhas been
underwater,
LIGHTING iNSTRUCTiONS
1.STOP!Readthesafetyinformationaboveonthislabel.
2.Removeouterdoor.
3.Set the thermostatto lowest settingby turning the
watertemperaturedialclockwise,(f'_) to itslowest
temperaturesetting(witharrowondial)asshown.DO
NOT FORCE,
4.Turngascontrolknobclockwise_'_ to "OFF" posi-
tion. Knobcannotbe turnedfrom "PILOT" to "OFF"
unlessknobis depressedslightly.DO NOT FORCE.

5.Waitfive(5) minutesto clearout anygas. If you then
smellgas,STOP!Follow"B" in thesafetyinformation
aboveon this label.If you don'tsmellgas, go to the
nextstep.
6. Remove(or open)innerdoor locatedbelow the gas
controlunit.(Figure9)
7. FindpiloHollowmetaltubefromgascontrol.The pilot
islocatedontherighthandsideof theburner.

8.If youdon'tsmell_gas,turnknobongascontrolcounter
clockwise_ to "PILOT"position.(Figure7)
9, Push in control knob all the way and hold down.
immediatelylightthepilotwitha match.Continueto
holdcontrolknobin for aboutone (1) minuteafter
thepilotis lit. Releaseknoband itwillpop backup.
Pilotshouldremainlit. If itgoesout, repeatsteps3
through8.
= If knobdoesnotpopupwhenreleased,stopand
immediatelycallyour servicetechnicianor gas
supplier.
. If the pilot wilt not stay lit after severaltries
depressandturnthe gascontrolknobclockwise

10. Replace(or close)innerdoor.Replaceouterdoor if
doordoesnotcovergascontrolon/offknobor tem-
peratureadjustmentknob.(Figure9)
11. Atarmslengthaway,turngascontrolknobcounter-
clockwise _#_)_ to the full "ON" position.
WARNING Donot use gas control knobto reg-
ulate gas flow, (Figure8)
12.At arms lengthaway,setthe thermostatto desired
setting.Themark( V ) HOTindicativeofapproximate
120°F is preferredstartingpoint.Some local laws
mayrequirea lowerstartingpoint.If hotterwateris
desired,seeinstructionmanualand"warning" below.
13.Replacetheouterdoorif notreplacedinstep10.
