For Intermittent Ignition (IID) with
Honeywell or Robertshaw Gas
Valve
1. STOP! Read the safety information above on this
label.
2. Set the tankstat on the lowest setting.
3. Turn off all electric power to the appliance.
4. This appliance is equipped with an ignition device
which automatically lights the pilot. Do not try to
light the pilot by hand.
5. Remove heater door panel.
6. For Robertshaw Gas Valve: Turn gas control knob
clockwise to "OFF". For Honeywell Gas
Valve: Turn gas control knob clockwise to
"OFF". Make sure knob rest against stop. For
Honeywell Gas Valve: Push in gas control knob
slightly and turn clockwise to "OFF". Knob cannot
be turned to "OFF" unless knob is pushed in slight-
ly. Do not force.
7. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. Then
smell for gas, including near the floor. If you smell
gas, STOP! Follow "b" in the safety information
previously stated. If you do not smell gas, go to the
next step.
8. For Honeywell Gas Valve: Turn gas control knob
counter-clockwise to “ON”.
For Robertshaw Gas Valve: Move gas control
lever to “ON" position.
9. Replace door panel.
10. Turn on all electric power to the appliance.
11. Set tankstat to desired setting.
12. If the heater will not operate, follow the instructions
“To Turn Off Gas To Appliance” and call your serv-
ice technician or gas supplier.
To Turn Off Gas to Heater
1. Set the thermostat to the lowest setting.
2. Turn off all the electric power to the appliance if
service is to be performed.
3. Remove door panel.
4. For Robertshaw Gas Valve: Push in and move
gas control lever to “OFF” position.
For Honeywell Gas Valve: Push in gas control
knob slightly and turn clockwise to “OFF”.
5. Replace heater door panel.
