Theselamps must beoperatedinfixturesdesigned foruse withHighPressure Sodium
lamps.Thefixturewattage ratingmust match thewattageindicated ontheouter glassbulb.Donotscratch
theouter bulb or subjectit topressureas thiscouldcause theouterbulb tocrack orshatter.Apartialvacuum
inthe outerbulbmaycause glasstofly iftheglass isstruck.Operatingthe lampimproperly mayresult in
PERSONALINJURY,PROPERTYDAMAGE,BURNSANDFIRE.
1.If theouterglass bulbis broken,shutoffpowerimmediately andremovethe lampafterit hascooled.
2.Use onlyauxiliaryequipmentmeeting Philipsand/orANSIstandards.Use withinvoltage limitsrecommended
byballast manufacturer.
A.Operate lamp onlywithin specified limitsof operation.
B.Fortotalsupply loadreferto ballastmanufacturerselectricaldata.
3.Protect lampbase,socket andwiringagainst moisture,corrosiveatmospheresand excessiveheat.
4.Replace thelamp iftheouter glassbulbhas beenscratched,crackedor damagedin anyway.
5.Ifa lampbulbsupportisused,besure to insulatethe supportelectricallyso asto avoidpossible decomposition
ofthe bulbglass.
6.Donotusethis lampina fixturewhich redirectsasubstantial portionof the energy toward thearctube and
itsimmediate vicinity,asthis maylead toveryearlylamp failure.
7.Take careinhandling anddisposingof lamps.If arctubeis broken,avoidskin contactwithany ofthecontents
orfragments.
8.Thearc tubeofthis lampcontainssodium and mercury.Disposeof inaccordancewith federal,stateandlocal
requirements.
