thefollowingsteps:
1.Turnoffthegastothewaterheateratthemanualgasshut-
offvalve.
2.Openanearbyhotwaterfaucetuntilthewaterisnolonger
hot.
3.Closethecoldwaterinletvalve.
4. Connecta hoseto thedrainvalveandterminateit toan
adequatedrainorexternaltothebuilding.
5.Openthewaterheaterdrainvalveandallowallofthewater
todrainfromthetank.Flushthetankwithwaterasneeded
toremovesediment.
6.Closethedrainvalve,refillthetank,andrestarttheheateras
directedinthismanual.
Ifthewaterheaterisgoingtobeshutdownforanextended
period,thedrainvalveshouldbeleftopen.
IMPORTANT:Condensationmayoccurwhenrefillingthetank
andshouldnotbeconfusedwithatankleak.
