5 Correcting malfunctions
Replacing the hygienic blow-out filter

4.3 Replacing the hygienic
blow-out filter
1. Switch the appliance off and observe the instructions
under ZChapter 3.2, "Switching off and retracting the
power cable".
2. Open the blow-out filter cover (Fig. 24/1). To do this,
press the lock (Fig. 24/2) down and pull the blow-out
filter cover back.
3. Remove the filter (Fig. 25/1). To do this, press the lock
(Fig. 25/2) to the right and pull the filter out to the back.
4. Insert the new filter (Order Number, ZChapter 8,
"Spare parts"). Make sure that it clicks into place
correctly.
5. Then reinsert the blow-out filter cover again.
5 Correcting malfunctions
Before sending the appliance to Royal

Appliance Customer Services, use the following table to
check whether you can correct the malfunctions yourself.
NOTE:
If it is only slightly dirty, it can also suffice to knock the
filter over a dustbin. However, we recommend you
replace the filter regularly.

WARNING:
Before starting to troubleshoot, switch the appliance off and pull out the mains plug. Never use a
defective appliance.
Malfunction Possible cause Solution
Appliance does
not work
Plug is not plugged in or the
appliance is not switched on.
Plug in plug and switch on appliance,
ZChapter 3.1, "Vacuuming".
Socket does not carry any
current.
Test the cylinder vacuum cleaner at another
socket which you are sure carries current.
Power cable is damaged. Have the cable replaced by Royal
®
Appliance
Customer Services, address, ZPage 31,
"Warranty".
Appliance does
not suck up any
dirt
Dust container is full or blocked. Empty/clean dust container.
Filter is dirty. Clean the corresponding filter, ZChapter 4,
"Filters".
Nozzle, telescopic tube or
suction hose are blocked.
Remove the blockage. If necessary, use a long
wooden rod for this (e.g. a broom handle).
Appliance makes
a strange noise
Sucked in particles are blocking
the air-way.
Remove the particles. If necessary, use a long
wooden rod for this (e.g. a broom handle).
