4-3 Date and Time Setting
The time/date generator and timer recording will not function if the time and date are not set.
Set the month/day/year, hour/minute and Summer Time Compensation ON/OFF on the CLOCK SET screen. The setting can
be checked even on the display.

Operation
Turn on the monitor and VCR.
Press the [MENU] button to display the main menu screen.
Press the [SHIFT 7] button to set the cursor on <CLOCK
SET> on the main menu.
Press the [SET +/
–] button.
[The <CLOCK SET> screen is shown. The cursor shows
the <TIME> setting item and the hour digit blinks.
* Check that <SUMMER TIME> on the last line is set to
“OFF.
Set the “hour” by pressing the [SET +/
–] button. This VCR
uses the 24-hour system.
• Press the [SET +] button to increase the numerical value
and the [SET –] button to decrease it (same for minute,
month, day and year setting).

During summer time period, set the time with a one-hour
delay.

During standard time period, set the actual time.
Press the [SHIFT t] button so that the minutes digit blinks.
Press the [SET +/
–] button to set the minutes.
Press the [SHIFT 7] button.
[The <DATE> setting item is shown by the cursor and the
month item blinks.

–] button to set the month.
Press the [SHIFT t] button so that the day item blinks and
set the day with the [SET +/
–] button.
In the same way, press the [SHIFT t] button so that the year
item blinks and set the year with the [SET +/–] button.
For summer time compensation
• Press the [SHIFT 7] button to set the cursor to <SUMMER
TIME> and press the [SET +/
–] button to set <SUMMER
TIME> to “ON”.
[The time is automatically adjusted one hour forward in
the summer.
End date/time setting.
• Press the [MENU] button.
[The monitor screen returns to the main menu screen
and the time count starts from 00 second.
• Press the [MENU] button again to restore the normal screen.

Summer Time Compensation
• When setting the time, make sure the <SUMMER TIME> item is set to
“OFF”.
When this unit is shipped, this item is set to
“OFF”.
Standard time
Set the clock to the actual time.
When daylight savings start, set the <SUMMER TIME>
item to “ON”.
• The time advances one hour on the display.
During daylight savings time
Set the time with a one-hour delay.
After setting the time, set the <SUMMER TIME> item to
“ON”.
• The set time advances one hour.
At the end of the daylight savings time season, set the
<SUMMER TIME> item to
“OFF”.
• The standard time instead of <SUMMER TIME> is
displayed.
4-4 Hour Meter Display
Drum rotation time is displayed on the monitor
’s screen and the VCR's display in the form of an hour meter. Use this data to
schedule maintenance.
Operation
Turn on the VCR and monitor.
Press the [MENU] button to display the main menu.
Press the [SHIFT 7] button to set the cursor on the
<HOUR METER> on the main menu.
Press the [SET +/
–] button to show the hour meter (drum
rotating time) on the monitor.
Press the [MENU] button twice to restore the normal
screen.

Notes:
• If the power plug has been disconnected from an AC outlet for a long time, make sure the set time is correct before
using the unit. (Clock time may be affected by environmental factors.)
• When the built-in backup battery capacity is low, the error indication E-10 appears on the display. Contact your local
JVC dealer to replace the built-in battery.
Time setting for 29 seconds or less
When the seconds value is 29 or less, you can reset it to 00 by
pressing the [CNT RESET] button while pressing the [RESET/
CANCEL] button.
• For 30 or more, the seconds value is reset to 00 and the
minutes value is increased by one.
