Run the following two tests sequentially. See the
IBM Store Systems: Hardware
Service Manual for Point-of-Sale Input/Output Devices
for details of the tests. The
symptoms to troubleshoot the printer depend on adhering to the tests.
1. Run the
printer offline test
in the maintenance manual and troubleshoot any
failure there.
2. When the printer offline test runs correctly, continue with the
printer test.
Note: If there is an error message while running the diagnostic, see Table 5 on
page 27 or Table 4 on page 26. If the message is not in one of these
tables, see the messages in the
IBM Store Systems: Hardware Service
Manual for Point-of-Sale Input/Output Devices
.
Diagnostic and service diskettes
This section contains messages, return codes, and the system utility for the service,
support or diagnostic diskettes. See Printer Repair in the

procedures.
Fiscal printer messages
Use Table 4 on page 26 to determine the cause of a diagnostic or service diskette
message.
