SHUTTLE CONTROL
Using the shuttle ring on the remote control
The shuttle feature lets you control all the playback functions – PLAY,
PAUSE, SLOW MOTION, and SEARCH – using one convenient ring.
If the shuttle ring is operated when the key function buttons are
illuminated, the illumination goes off.
How to use the shuttle ring
pic
[A] Turn the shuttle ring during playback or still playback (pause).
• As you turn the ring, you get different playback speeds and forward or
reverse motion.
• Try using the shuttle to explore backward and forward through your next
video.

[B] Turn the ring while in the stop mode to fast forward or rewind the
tape.
• The tape continues to be wound even after you release the dial.

Notes:
• If noise bars appear on the TV screen during the SLOW/STILL modes, turn and
hold the shuttle ring in the SLOW position, then press the CH ( or ) button
on the remote control to minimize the noise bars. The noise bars are then
eliminated automatically in the STILL mode.
• Since thin videotape is used in T-180 and longer cassettes, do not repeatedly
perform the following operations with these tapes.
– Fast forward, rewind, slow play
– Insertion and ejection of tapes
• During D-VHS playback, slow motion and reverse playback do not function.
