Element Addressing
Because ADIC does not support source storage element
addressing, the AMASS medialist utility cannot identify the
home storage slot for volumes in a drive.
To identify and return media from a drive to its home storage
slot, perform the following steps:
Step 1. Use the mediaread utility to read the slot number
from the label as shown below and display the
output to the screen:
FastStor 22 You must configure the library as 22 slots with
one Import/Export slot. To create this
configuration with the “Diagnostic Menu” on the
front panel, use the “CFG SLOTS” function.
Access the Diagnostic Menu by pressing and
holding first the NEXT button and then the
MODE button for about 5 seconds.
† If a power outage, hang, or reboot occurs, power off the ADIC
libraries, power on the ADIC libraries, and then run the AMASS
init_element utility.
