The following softkey functionality is available to the developer for the purpose of reordering or
preserving the default functionality of the XML screens. The “Dial” function is available to
screens that allow input. The dial string for the “Dial” function is taken from the menu items
URI on the Menu Screen, and from the editor field input on the Input Screen.

Additional Enhancements
Default Character Set Changed
The default character set for the XML API is ISO-8859-1 (previously was UTF-8).
Enhancements to the XML Objects
Additional enhancements to this new XML API feature have been implemented for the Text
Screen, Input Screen, and Menu Screen objects.
Text Screen
Custom URIs can now be added to the Text Screen object. The “destroyOnExit” attribute,
currently used by the User Input Screen and Text Menu Screen objects, is now available for the
Text Screen object as well.
