5.16 Manual Audio Transmit and Receive Gain Adjustments (optional)
The audio gain properties for the Aastra IP Phone handset, headset, and speakerphone have been
adjusted slightly in the 1.3.1 firmware to reduce side-tone and echo on the local and far-end
equipment. In line with these adjustments, new configurable parameters have been added to
Release 1.3.1 that allow users to configure their own audio gain settings to best suit their comfort
levels and deployment environment. These parameters are configurable via the configuration
files only, and include the following:
headset tx gain:
headset sidetone gain:
handset tx gain:
handset sidetone gain:
handsfree tx gain:
Each of these parameters can be adjusted by +/- 10 db.
Example 1:
headset tx gain: -5
This setting in example 1 reduces the headset speaker transmit gain by 5 db.
Example 2
handsfree tx gain: 10
The settings in example 2 increases the speakerphone mic transmit gain by 10 db.
Recommended Settings for Release 1.3.1 or higher:
headset tx gain: 0
headset sidetone gain: 0
handset tx gain: 0
handset sidetone gain: 0
handsfree tx gain: 0
5.17 Increase in Number of Available Softkeys for 480i/480i CT
In release 1.3.1, the Models 480i and 480i CT IP phones now have 20 softkeys available for use.
At the idle screen, five softkeys display on each of four screens.
